Winter School & Research Symposium 2025

The CoRE-MH is running a Winter School organised by the African Centre for Migration & Society (ACMS) at Wits University.

The Winter School centres on debating ‘more than the right to health’ in the context of current research priorities & activities in the field of M&H globally and in Africa.

Through contributions from leading researchers in and outside of the academy, the Winter School involves panel discussions, debates and small group projects to explore research agenda setting and prioritisation processes. Small group activities with international and local organisations will allow participants opportunities to explore research praxis outside the academy.

The Winter School takes place in-person at Wits University with a hybrid option available for plenary panel discussions. Participation is free but places are limited.

Please apply here to participate in person or register your interest to join remotely.

An overview of the programme can be found here.

As part of the Winter School, the ACMS is hosting a Research Symposium that aims to interrogate current research priorities and praxis within and beyond academic institutions in Africa. More details can be found here.
