Siphesihle Mahlangu

Siphesihle Mahlangu is a Masters Candidate in Health Sociology at Wits University. With a deep interest in migration and health, her research centres on the experiences of undocumented Mozambican women in Katlehong Township, exploring how they navigate maternal healthcare. Her study approach situates maternal healthcare access within the broader social structures shaped by gender, race, socioeconomic status and immigration status.

Passionate about advancing inclusive health equity, Siphesihle aspires to translate her research findings into actionable policy briefs as she seeks to amplify the voices of undocumented  migrant women and support transformative change in South Africa’s  maternal healthcare landscape.
