
Ghent University is a world-class, open, pluralistic and socially engaged university, over 200 years old and offers more than 200 programmes and conducts research in many scientific disciplines.
With a credo ‘Dare to Think‘, The Centre of the Social Study of Migration and Refugees (CESSMIR) at Ghent University is a university-wide centre aimed at interdisciplinary research on the social aspects of the worldwide phenomenon of migration and on realising societal impact.
It has over 150 members from 7 different faculties at Ghent University. During our activities, we co-create intensively with local, national and international non-academic stakeholders, such as practitioners, volunteers and policy makers, both in the Global North as in the Global South.
