Nompumelelo is currently pursuing a PhD at the African Center for Migration & Society (ACMS) at Wits University, where she is working under the Nurture4Youth project. Her research focuses on how migration policies influence healthcare access for migrants, with a particular emphasis on sexual and reproductive health rights. Nompumelelo is passionate about exploring the intersections of migration, health equity, and human rights, aiming to contribute to policy reforms that enhance healthcare access for vulnerable migrant populations. Her broader research interests include migration governance, health disparities, gender and reproductive rights, and social justice in migration contexts.
