Chhavi Chaudhary is a Doctoral Researcher at the Department of African Studies, University of Delhi, with a research focus on Migration dynamics and shaping of identity, and political agency in India and South Africa. Her work aims to contribute to inclusive and equitable migration and development policy frameworks. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi and completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science from Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi.
Professionally, Chhavi is a Research Fellow at the International Council on Human Rights, Peace, and Politics (ICHRPP) and has previously worked with organisations including WWF-India and the UN Foundation. Chhavi was selected as a Youth Delegate for the First India–Tunisia Youth Summit and is an Associate Member- Generation EU-India (GenEI).
She has presented research papers on Migration governance in India at Jamia Millia Islamia University, and on Political agency and migration dynamics in India and Africa at the Department of African Studies, University of Delhi. Chhavi has participated in key academic forums, including the India–EU Migration: Challenges and Prospects workshop at School of International Relations, Jawaharlal Nehru University,in collaboration with Jean Monet Module and the Global Diaspora Academy (GDA) and IOM workshop on diaspora organisations.
